Conceived from Maurice Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit and the poems that inspired it, this show is a journey of music and text through the night as a space of subjectivity and transfiguration.
An intimate experience that establishes a dialogue between music and words, Suddenly the Night is also a visual exchange between instrument and actor.
The journey begins with a transition from the triviality of the social evening and the lounge pianist to the darkness of the anonymity in the city, with such contrasting composers as Poulenc and Ligeti and a monologue that guides us through the different moods of the night. The second part delves into the romantic sensitivity of Schumann, Wieck and Grieg, whose works are articulated with letters and poems that bring both performers together in their longings and needs. With Sibelius, the night gives way to fantasy and finally takes us to the last part of our journey: Ravel and the three poems by Bertrand that inspired his lunatic and great piano work.

ARTISTS
Fernanda Morello
She belongs to the great piano tradition of Buenos Aires, while distinguishing herself for her unique artistic interpretations, breadth of repertoire, and beautiful sound. She has performed in every major concert hall in Argentina, and is a regular guest at concerts and events at the Colón Theatre of Buenos Aires. Her international appearances include performances in Uruguay, Spain, The United States, Germany and Australia. She won Honorable Mention in the contest sponsored by the Association of Pianists and Piano Teachers of the Americas, of New York. Morello was awarded the Premio Gardel for best classical music CD of the year for her recording of the Debussy and Shostakovich complete works for two pianos, released by the international label EMI Classics. Her vast discography includes more than twelve albums. Morello was the artistic director and pianist for the Erik Satie 150th Anniversary Tribute, which took place at the Colón Theatre in 2016. As a soloist she has performed with the most important orchestras of Argentina. Among the major works Morello has played to great acclaim are the two Shostakovich piano concertos, the Prokofiev 3rd piano concerto, the Ravel piano concerto in G, Schumann´s Opus 54 and the Mozart Ployer concertos. Fernanda Morello is a professor at UNA (National University for the Arts) and the Astor Piazzolla Conservatory in Buenos Aires, and is highly regarded as an accomplished teacher and mentor.
Marcos Montes
Actor and musician. He trained with Julio Chávez and Augusto Fernándes, in addition to studying singing, dance, guitar and piano. He continued his apprenticeship at the HB Studio in New York. He has acted in more than forty plays in Argentina; in Paris, he did several seasons of French theater with Alfredo Arias. He was also directed by Norma Aleandro, Inda Ledesma, Alberto Ure, Javier Daulte, Helena Tritek, Santiago Doria, Mario Segade, Marcelo Moncarz and Guillermo Ghio, among others. He received the Trinidad Guevara, Florencio Sánchez, Teatro del Mundo (UBA) and Luisa Vehil awards, and was nominated for the ACE and Hugo awards. He usually participates in cinema (Rosita, Los Marziano, Por un tiempo, Una novia errante, The City of your Final Destination) and television fiction (El puntero, El maestro, Signos, La caída, El jardín de bronce, Televisión por la identidad, Santos y pecadores, Otros pecados). He performed Un mundo guardado, his tribute to the work of Atahualpa Yupanqui, in Argentina, Uruguay, Ireland, Spain, Germany and France. He is currently starring in the acclaimed one-man show El Hombre de Acero, by Juan Francisco Dasso.
José Militano
Director and screenwriter. He studied at the Universidad del Cine (FUC, Buenos Aires) and participated in the Screenwriting Program at the University of Southern California (USC, Los Angeles). His first film, Música para casarse (2018), won the INCAA Opera Prima Prize and was included in the BAFICI Official Selection. His short film Un hada (2016) competed at the festivals of Mar del Plata, Guadalajara and South Korea. As a screenwriter, he has collaborated with authors and directors such as Anahí Berneri, Gabriela Larralde, Marcelo Camaño and Mariano Hueter, in content for Netflix, Kuarzo Entertainment Argentina and Dori Media Group. In addition to his film career, he worked in the artistic production teams of Juventus Lyrica and the Teatro Colón. He currently works as a teacher at the Universidad del Cine (FUC) and the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA).
